Our Projects
At Solarise Africa we have expertise in leasing, financing and investing in Africa’s renewable energy sector. We specialise in captive rooftop and ground mounted solar projects ranging from 50kW to 3MW, and we are fast expanding.
RECYCLING FACILITY, SOUTH AFRICA
MANUFACTURING
One of the largest and most advanced recyclers of plastics in Africa.
SIZE 1.3 MWp
SAVINGS 30%
In addition to being one of the most innovative recyclers on the African continent, the company wanted to take their commitment to sustainable development even further by utilising solar power.
The 1.3MWp solar plant has an annual generation capacity of 2GWh and will reduce their carbon emissions by 1,800 tonnes every year, which is equal to the carbon sequestered by just under 31,000 tree seedlings grown for 10 years.
FISH FARM, KENYA
FOOD SECURITY
Resource-conscious fish farm with 450 employees.
SIZE 216 kWp solar pv and 284kWh battery
SAVINGS 35%
Farmed fish production in Kenya is essential for improving the country’s food and nutrition status. As fish is a vital source of essential macro- and micronutrients, it plays an important role in reducing the high prevalence of undernutrition in Kenya.
This Homa Bay fish farm provides a higher-quality protein to their low-income community. They are committed to reducing the resource exploitation in the area and use renewable energy to reduce their carbon footprint and sustainably improve food security.
FLOWER FARM, KENYA
AGRICULTURE
The largest flower exporter based in Naivasha.
SIZE 1 MWp
SAVINGS 61.5%
This project is Phase 1 of a much larger renewable energy project and was designed to integrate with current geothermal electricity generation and future solar PV expansions. Driven by their desire to improve their carbon footprint and be responsible corporate citizens, this green project adheres to the strictest international standards, while also saving costs.
PACKAGING & PPE, KENYA
MANUFACTURING
A leading manufacturing company in Nairobi.
SIZE 335kWp
SAVINGS 47%
As a leading manufacturing company in Kenya, this company made a big move towards renewable energy to cut energy costs and substantially reduce their carbon footprint.
The cost-savings greatly helped the company during the COVID pandemic and enabled them to pivot towards the manufacturing of PPE.
MEDICAL FACILITY, RWANDA
HEALTH CARE
One of the oldest HIV clinics in Rwanda with 150 employed staff.
SIZE 50kWp
There are over 98,000 health care facilities in Sub-Saharan Africa and only 28% of these facilities have access to reliable electricity.
This poses a great risk for vaccines that are temperature-sensitive and must be maintained between 2º-8ºC.
By switching to renewable energy for the reliable power supply needed to correctly store vaccines, the clinic can now provide life-savings treatment to 2,200 patients every month.
UNIVERSITY, RWANDA
EDUCATION
Largest privately run university in Rwanda.
SIZE 300 kWp
In Rwanda, limited access to electricity has greatly hampered the rollout ICT technology in its education sector.
By utilizing renewable energy, this university will provide clean electricity to its academic buildings, making smart classrooms a possibility. It will also power the adjacent sports facility, reaching up to 22,000 students every day.
